This month Charlotte Green our Sales Executive here at Tea From The Manor spoke to Belinda Davenport, the business partner, along with her husband Ian, for the award winning Davenports of Cheshire. 

Davenports of Cheshire is a quintessential English Tea Room with antique lace table cloths and bone china tea services and has an incredible Alice in Wonderland theme. Not only do they provide a wonderful place for afternoon tea, they also offer cruises on which you can delight in having a cream tea, afternoon tea and even a fish and chip supper! If that wasn't enough they also run a beautiful florists! 

Charlotte: Walking into Davenports of Cheshire is such an incredible experience! Although we aren't able to visit at the moment Belinda and Ian have come up with a solution so you don't miss out on a special afternoon tea! Belinda, what do you have planed?

Belinda: One of the busiest dates for our tea room is Mothering Sunday weekend, as who wouldn’t want to take their Mum to somewhere as special.  Known for our delicious afternoon tea, hand made cakes and freshly baked scones and tea brewed to personal liking and served in antique bone china and the tea pots and cups are all warmed before brewing too!

With current lockdown restrictions, Davenports are offering a delivered locally Afternoon Tea @ Home (within 10 miles of CW8 4QU, but please ask if its near or you can collect).  At £25.99 pp we appreciate these afternoon teas are high end, but after we had 96 people booked in last year, we were able to deliver to 70 and from that moment on, we had repeat orders and recommendations, so I suppose that speaks for itself, don’t you think?  After all if you’re celebrating something special, you only get one shot at it, so we appreciate that and make sure it is.

Although tea has been our passion for the last 15 years, our background from the 1950’s was horticulture and floristry.  So as established florists we can produce beautiful hand tied bouquets to go with any order or even on their own. 

Charlotte: That all sounds so wonderful, make your mother's day special even if you're far away and with the addition of flowers you can't go wrong! With everything you do you must need a cup of tea to keep you going. Do you have favourite a tea and why?

Belinda: I do have different favourite teas throughout the day depending on what I need, but one of my absolute favourites is Tea From The Manor’s Assam.  It is a delicious clean crisp taste, normal tasting but so much nicer than breakfast tea and a perfect afternoon pick me up.

 
Charlotte: We're so glad you enjoy it! I love having that one too, a lovely little boost. I can't wait to visit Davenports of Cheshire soon. When you reopen why should people visit? 

Belinda: One of the key things about Davenports is that unlike other high afternoon tea destinations such the Ritz or Betty’s, is that you can not visit once and say you’ve experienced Davenports. Not only do we have different afternoon teas normally, we have themed events such as the Mad Hatters Tea Party, our very special Victorian Christmas and our Vintage Afternoon Tea cruises, it’s no wonder that we see so many repeat customers, but also customers from all over the World. 

Charlotte: I need to book now for the Victorian Christmas as I can imagine that gets full very quickly! We'll bring you some Christmas tea for the season! What is it that makes you want to use Tea From The Manor?

Belinda: Oh gosh it has to be because of James. He is as passionate about teas as I am and that is saying something!  The fact that the tea is delicious and a wide range is an absolute bonus, and I love supporting local family businesses like ourselves.
