This month our very own Charlotte Green spoke to Sadi Tasci, Marketing Executive at Flat Cap Hotels. Tea From The Manor has been serving this wonderful group since they took over their first hotel. They have three beautiful locations. The Vicarage in Cranage, just a stones throw away from where our proprietor James is based. The Courthouse in Knutsford and The Bridge in Prestbury. 

Charlotte: Obviously Covid has had a drastic impact on the hospitality industry but what do you have planned for The Flat Cap hotels for 2021 and how have you adapted?

Sadi: Despite everything that’s going on we have some exciting things to look forward to this year. The refurbishment of The Courthouse, in Knutsford, is under way and we look to have that reopened in the Spring! In terms of offers coming up, our popular take out service is returning on February 4^th and we look forward to some great offers for Valentine’s Day & Mother’s Day (if restrictions haven’t eased by that point) to enable our customers to enjoy the day from home and not miss out completely! Charlotte: Do you have favourite a tea and why?

Sadi: My favourite Tea From the Manor is definitely the Moroccan Mint. Any time I am at one of the hotels I always check to see if we have it in stock, it’s incredibly refreshing and tastes very authentic.

 

Charlotte: Why should people stay at The Flat Cap Hotels?

Charlotte: Why do you use Tea From The Manor?

Sadi: We use Team From the Manor because firstly it is a local independent business and secondly because they offer a great selection of teas from around the world of the highest quality.

As we come in to 2021, we realised we indulged far too much over Christmas and some of our team, with a lot of others, decided to try Dry January (James isn’t doing it, he’s already TEA – total!) others have decided to go for Veganuary!

Many people ask us about the benefits of tea and how it might be good for them. We always start off by saying there is some research that might suggest certain health benefits but it’s not been proven that drinking wellness teas every day will turn you in to a healthy goddess with luxurious flowing hair and a new zen aura!

Let’s start with green tea. As part of a healthy and balanced diet Green Tea is said to boost metabolic rate and increase fat burning, along with a good exercise routine. Green tea also has the most caffeine content of all the types of tea, so it’s great in the morning for that extra boost. With Green tea you will have a nice, sustained energy boost as the theanine that is also in the tea balances the jittery effects that you might get with other high caffeine drinks. All teas, including herbal teas such as red berries contain antioxidants which is great news for your mind and body. Antioxidants are also found in Spinach, kale, blueberries, beetroot and nuts and seeds.

When you buy high quality herbal tea you are usually buying the pure herb, berry or spice ready to make your drink. For example with Lemon and Ginger tea you should be able to see the dried lemon and pieces of ginger. Making a cup of this, especially if adding honey always makes us feel better if we are feeling a bit under the weather. Breathing in the steam before drinking seems to help clear our airways too.

Our wellness teas always give us a bit of a boost, even if it’s just the feel good factor of the name. Drinking our Motivation Tea makes us feel like we can take on the world! The relationship between tea and wellness is not a new concept.
