Our Russian Caravan tea is a blend of Chinese and Formosan teas, with Darjeeling added to perfectly balance the slightly smoky blend.
Did you know the name comes from the 17th century when camel caravans transported tea from China and India to Europe via Russia, a journey that took over 6 months to make. The tea would be set down next to the camp fires on these long journeys and each night the tea would be slightly smoked from the fires. The smoky taste has been kept over the year and this tea has become a real tradition and drunk widely in Russia.
We would recommend just off the boil water and steep the tea for 2-3 minutes.
Our AmareTEA tea comes in a red and white bag with display window (100g) or a large white bag (500g or 1kg).
