This popular beverage is known as the Champagne of teas. As with Champagne, Darjeeling can only be given this title if it it grown in Darjeeling, West Bengal. A fruity, floral aroma, thin bodied and lightly coloured, it is widely acknowledged to be the finest of teas, amongst the world’s tea elite.
To taste Darjeeling is to taste the landscape where it is grown. Intermittent rain and sun nurture the landscape that inspired Rudyard Kipling to craft his stories. Comprised of the smallest shoots, still covered in dew, they are traditionally picked by hand, to deliver one of the finest teas in the world.
Did you know, Darjeeling is the tea the Duchess of Bedford would most likely have drunk in 1840 as she began the tradition of afternoon tea. So if you want a real, authentic afternoon tea, choose the champagne of teas, Darjeeling!
We would recommend just off the boil water and steep the tea for 2-3 minutes.
Our Darjeeling tea comes in a red and white bag with display window (100g) or a large white bag (500g or 1kg)
